GREY CROWNED CRANES GRACE THE SKIES

There is something very evocative about hearing the call of Grey Crowned Cranes in flight at dawn or dusk and watching the slow beat of their wings.

The cranes have been a talking point in the Ambers for the past few months. Pairs were seen at various locations and in January 10 birds were grazing on Dry Mountain farm across the fence from Amber Lee.

Ambers Drama Group presents delightful Variety Show

The Variety Show presented by the Drama Group on 21-22 September was
well received by the audiences. The show featured tap dancing, comedy skits
and monologues, musical interludes with piano and saxophone, bell-ringing
and foot-tapping songs inviting the audience to join in.

Auditorium - Celebrating ten years

Many of us will remember the Amber Ridge Auditorium opening functions of 2013, when “The Pig and Whistle” performed and we filled the Auditorium for two consecutive nights. Dr Armstrong started off the first evening with the formal opening.

Five years later the KZN All Stars Big Band performed here to a full house to celebrate the 5 anniversary of the Auditorium.

Now we are about to celebrate the 10 anniversary of this wonderful facility and we are fortunate to be able to have this function on the actual anniversary date. Thank you to the Wine Club who graciously agreed to move their formal end-of-year dinner from that date.

New entrance open for business

Wow, if you missed the opening of the Amber Valley entrance you sadly missed a grand event!

The opening of the entrance was attended by just under 250 people, including the uMngeni Mayor, Chris Pappas. Also present were representatives from the various contractors involved in the project, the administration, estate and care centre teams and of course, residents of the Greater Ambers and members of the KSS team who are delighted to have this amazing new building to provide the required access to and egress from our estate.
